Blackdog's Modern Recording Techniques Course

At Blackdog Recording Studios, Robert offers a one-on-one 21 hour course in music recording, production, and sound engineering. This private class will teach you everything you need to know to begin to pursue your audio engineering ambitions.

Our Class is based on the Modern Recording Techniqies textbook by David Miles Huber and Robert E. Runstein and consists of 21 classes as follows:

Class 2: Sound And Hearing
Class 3: Studio Acoustics
Class 4: Microphone Design/Usage
Class 5: Analog Recording
Class 6: Digital Audio Technology
Class 7: Digital Audio Workstations
 Class 8: Groove Tools
Class 9: MIDI and Electronic Music
Class 10: Multimedia and the Web
Class 11: Synchronization
Class 12: Amplifiers
Class 13: Mixing
Class 14: Signal Processing
 Class 15: Noise Reduction
Class 16: Monitoring
Class 17: Surround Sound
Class 18: Mastering
Class 19: Product Manufacture
Class 20: Tips and Tricks
Class 21: Moving Forward


Each Class will include hands on instruction, in depth analysis of the text, and a weekly test on the material presented. At the end of the course you will have a foundational understanding of the Art, Science and Magic of Modern Recording Techniques.

Our previous students have gone on to 4 year programs at Full Sail, Tennesee State, The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, MCC, FLCC, and careers locally and abroad in the music industry.
